Sonus Magazine is back once again to present an exclusive magazine interview with the young and upcoming Sarasota, Florida artist DGK Marco! After this interview, be sure to check out the artist and their social links to hear and learn more about them!

1. What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?
It was always my passion from a young age and it helps me cope and deal with hard times, mentally or physically.
2. What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?
I’ve lost friends and family making music. people don’t believe in me and push through and persevere. I’m constant with my music and I do it all portably, taking it everywhere with me when I can.
3. How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I make songs that you can vibe on and blast in your car.
4. What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?
One of the biggest advantages are the connections and people you meet and the support you get. A big disadvantage is the amount of people who look over you and skip right through just because of your following.
5. Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?
I want to work with a major label, I just want to contract to be critiqued to my liking into where it actually helps me as an artist and label.
6. Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?
TOO MUCH GUAP easily. The reason I choose this song is because, my best friend and I made it together, and I think it’s really just a genuine vibe that you can just blast in a car or in your headphones and just get hyped up too.
7. Who would you most like to collaborate with, whether its an artist, DJ or Producer? Why?
My dream is to make a song with Playboi Carti, Yeat, Yvngxchris, 21 Savage, and J Cole. obviously not all in one song, but those are just my inspirations and they help me become who I am today musically.
8. Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
I haven’t had the opportunity to record in a studio or perform live I kind of did throw a concert as a joke, and it was pretty fun because I liked the interaction and the overall just hype of the people and I just thought that was really fun.
9. During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?
My worst experience would probably be the time I got scammed for a feature. Someone claimed they had connections with a bigger artist that I really wanted to work with and I spent over $1000 to work with him and I never got my money back. I never got anything in return, so that was kind of a shitty experience.
10. What would you consider your most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?
my proudest moment would probably be when I show my friends, my music, and they get turned the fuck up to it. It’s just a great feeling to know you make shit that your friends fuck with and just people fuck with in general and it just makes you feel good and proud about yourself
11. If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
If I could open the show for Carti, that would be amazing He is definitely one of my favorite artist and one that seems really cool and down to earth.
12. What inspires you the most about the music industry these days?
I would probably have to say my favorite rapper that I know personally YNG Hugh, I’ve known him for two years. He has been there since I started, he has mixed some of my songs. And he’s really down to earth person. He gives life advice, music advice, recording advice. He is genuinely helped me and been one of my number one supporters.
13. How would you describe your creative process when making a song?
To be honest, I just find a beat I fuck with I just flow on, and I just freestyle puncheon think you’re cool ass shit that rhymes, shit that I’ve been through and I just put it on the song.
14. In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?
The rap music scene where I am is pretty bland and I haven’t really met any artists that have come out of this area. I know one person who goes by SharodNoFacade, he’s pretty lit. I’ve spoken to him a couple times, but it’s just pretty bland.
15. What is your latest release and where fans can find it?
HIGH AS FUCK, it is on my SoundCloud to be honest it’s not the best of my work, but it’s up there.
16. What what can fans expect to see from you in the coming months or even years?
Over the next couple months, you’re going to see more music hopefully an album more opportunities for me I’m gonna start going into studios, linking up with more artists, and possibly even a live show.
