Back in 2020, Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, (real name Daystar Peterson) was charged with shooting Megan Pete (fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion) in the foot. Today, Lanez was found guilty of all charges, and faces more than 22 years in prison.
Lanez was found guilty of carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm, felony negligent discharge of a firearm, and assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Lanez repeatedly denied these claims, including on lyrics for his 2020 album Daystar.
TMZ reported that members of Lanez’ family were seen in the courtroom after the verdict was read, loudly calling the court system evil in response.
Sentencing will commence on January 27th, where the exact punishment for Lanez’ actions will be determined.
